You’re looking at the proof
This site is built the same way yours would be, and I publish its numbers rather than ask you to take my word for it. Measured on 18 October 2026 with Google’s own tool.
- Google speed score on a phone
- 98/100
- to load on slow mobile data (simulated)
- 2.1 s
- accessibility score
- 100/100
- search engine setup
- 100/100
Before anything goes live, automatic checks test every page on a phone, a tablet and a laptop, check every colour is readable, and run 39 tests on the contact form, including what happens if email is down. Yours gets the same. See every measurement, and what isn’t perfect.
And two complete sites you can try
A plumber in Cape Town
The pages a trade business needs, with prices up front and a quote form that works properly on a phone.
An online coffee shop
A working shop: six coffees in three sizes and six grinds, a cart, and checkout through PayFast.
The businesses are made up; the forms and checkout work. What each one shows, and how they measure up.
Not ready to start a project?
Send me your current website and I’ll check it for free. Within one working day you get a short email from me: how fast it is on a phone, how it looks to Google, and the first three things I’d fix.
No obligation and no mailing list. If it turns out your site is fine, I’ll say so.
The usual problem
Most small-business websites are slow, badly structured for search, and inaccessible to a meaningful share of visitors. That’s rarely the owner’s fault. It’s what happens when a site is assembled from a page-builder and never measured afterwards. The result is a site that costs money every month and returns nothing.
Who it suits
- Businesses whose current site is slow, dated or invisible in search
- New businesses that need a credible presence before they start selling
- Anyone who has outgrown a Wix or WordPress template
If you need a five-page brochure site and nothing more, a template will genuinely be cheaper. I will tell you that rather than sell you a custom build.
What you get
All of this is in the price.
- A design made for your business, not a template
- Fast on phones, measured and reported to you before handover
- Set up to be found on Google, with Search Console connected
- Easy for everyone to use, including people with screen readers
- A contact form that filters out spam and emails you every enquiry
- Visitor statistics, so you can see what’s working
- The code, domain and hosting in your name from day one
Built with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Cloudflare.
Questions people ask
How much does a website cost in South Africa?
South African agencies typically charge R12,000 to R40,000 for a small-business website, and R20,000 to R55,000 for a larger build. I charge from R3,500. That is possible because the groundwork (hosting, forms, spam protection, accessibility and speed checks) is already built and reused on every project, and because there is no sales team or office to pay for. Testing and accessibility are not the parts that get cut.
How long does a website take to build?
Two to three weeks for a typical marketing site, measured from the point where content and branding are ready. Larger sites with a blog or integrations take four to six weeks. The timeline is agreed in writing before work starts.
Do I own the website when it is finished?
Yes. You own the code, the repository and every account from day one. Hosting, the domain and the database are all registered in your name, not mine. If you want to move to another developer later, nothing is locked to me.
Will my website show up on Google?
Every site I build ships with technical SEO in place: server-rendered pages, correct metadata, a generated sitemap, structured data and fast Core Web Vitals. That makes the site eligible to rank. Actually ranking for competitive terms also needs content and time, which I am happy to advise on.
What does it cost to maintain the site afterwards?
Hosting a site like this is usually free or a few dollars a month, and a .co.za domain is roughly R100 to R200 a year. An optional care plan at R750 a month covers updates, monitoring and small changes. There is no obligation to take it.
Other things I build
Web applications
Dashboards, customer portals, booking systems and internal tools, with logins, permissions and an admin area your team will actually use.
Integrations
Connecting the tools you already pay for, like your CRM, payment provider, accounting and messaging, so nobody has to retype data between them.
Backend systems
Dedicated APIs, databases and scheduled jobs. Designed to be handed over: documented, tested and deployed from a pipeline.
Got something in mind?
A couple of sentences is enough. I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person for it, and if I am, what it will cost and how long it will take.
